Thanks to the Inner Dreamer in All of Us

Reading Time: Approx 1 minute

“I want a big life. I want to break every rule there is.”

MZ

Growing up I was told daily that I had “ideas above my station”, that I was entitled and, “who the hell did I think I was?” But here’s the thing: I thank God every single day for that little girl. The one who dared to dream big, who didn’t let the world’s small-mindedness shrink her and who refused to be held back by the lack of protection, love or parenting. Those “ideas above my station” were the spark that fuelled everything I’ve achieved and everything I continue to reach for. I know I’m not alone. Twenty-three years of working with clients who come in all shades of wounded leaves me in no doubt.

As Tony Robbins points out, when you heal the boy, the man will appear. Many men have a hurt and repressed little boy lingering inside. No matter how grown up they may look on the outside, on the inside something just doesn’t feel right, their drive to succeed and refusal to be controlled unparalleled.

Some people fear that doing “The Work” will diminish their fire but the truth is those flames will burn higher than ever. It’s just about learning not to get burnt!

So here is to embracing ambition and passion unapologetically, whilst thanking the dreamer inside you.
