Are you sitting comfortably? Do you have a chilled glass of wine by your side as you take time out to relax after one hell of a day? A little ‘me’ time is often punctuated by hearing the cork release and the gorgeous gurgle as the wine glass fills. Aaaah bliss!
You already know how that glass, or three, of vino each evening could be on target to cause you serious health problems! This is where you might be tempted to click ‘close’ and move on …… but before you do please let me put it another way……..
ALCOHOL RELATED DISEASE NOW COSTS THE NHS IN ENGLAND TWICE AS MUCH AS SMOKING-RELATED ISSUES. (Source: Centre for Health Economics, University of York). MIDDLE-CLASS, MIDDLE-AGED WINE DRINKERS ARE MOST AT RISK.
Increasing dissatisfaction with our lives, overloading on stress and not knowing how else to cope are significant factors. Rather than dealing with the cause it is easier to turn to the grape. What are you waiting to happen before you take action?
Today I received a press release that is too good not to share….. I shall be indulging my sorry paws for sure and using it as a great excuse for a gossip and giggle with the girls! The spa is so new there are no pics available, keep an eye on the website if you are interested in seeing more…….. http://www.aquasheko.co.uk/
London’s First Ever Fish Therapy Spa Makes A Splash
The ultimate pedicure has arrived in time for summer with London’s first ever fish therapy concept spa, Aqua Sheko, opening it’s doors in Kensington, on Monday 7th June. A popular beauty treatment in Asia, fish therapy is a relaxing way to remove dead skin from your feet as tiny fish gently suck and nibble away the dead skin, leaving your feet smooth and revitalised.
Founder of Aqua Sheko, Karen Ho, is very excited to bring fish therapy to London and believes it is important for everyone to look after their feet. “Winter can be very punishing on our feet. It is easy to forget about your feet when you are hiding them away in boots but it’s essential that we look after them. Fish therapy is an enjoyable and relaxing way to remove a build up of dead skin and maintain smooth, good looking feet all year round.”
Fish therapy is a unique beauty therapy treatment that uses Garra Rufa fish, a form of carp, to gently remove dead skin. The fish have no teeth and use a sucking motion to painlessly lift away dead skin without damaging the new health cells underneath, leaving you with a pleasant tingling sensation similar to a light massage.
Thanks to everybody who has been in touch to check that I am still alive and kicking! My apologies for the lack of updates and articles coming through. In addition to running my usual clinics in West London and Sussex I have been checking out the latest research and advancements in the field of Personal Transformation (Plus making a few changes of my own!)
I have always promised to stay at the cutting edge of change work, weeding the chaff from the wheat on your behalf and bringing the most effective tools to your sessions. All techniques are first tested on me, then volunteers and the results carefully monitored before integrating into my own work. I would like to thank those who have taken part in the trials. I do not teach anything I have not personally experienced and utilise regularly in my own growth program for a minimum of six weeks.
It is my intention to continue to split my research and training 50/50 between science and intuitive work.
THE LATEST BRAIN SCIENCE RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENTS
Until recently science was unable to map the brain with accuracy, hence treating depression, OCD, anxiety etc has been a hit and miss affair. (So hit and miss that in trials a placebo has mirrored results of anti-depressant drugs!)
The Allen Institute for Brain Science, set up by Philanthropist Paul G Allen with a $100m donation to advance brain research, has taken a giant leap forward. For the first time science is now able to witness the brain in 3D at molecular level with microscopic resolution. This research has already shown it is possible to switch off genes that are not helpful and ignite the thousands we have lying dormant! Can you imagine the implications for people who are pre-disposed to certain illness brought down the genetic line?
I have never been a great fan of hypnotherapy as it is ‘doing it to’ the client rather than working with. Interactive/Touch Hypnotherapy has changed that! Marilyn Gordon BCH CI, has created the Transformational Healing Method (THM), based on 30 years experience of Energy Psychology and Hypnotherapeutic Healing. An inspirational woman on many counts, Director and Founder of a California state-licensed hypnotherapy school, the Centre for Hypnotherapy Certification and a Certified Instructor for the National Guild of Hypnotists…… for more about Marilyn: http://www.thewisemind.com/shop/index.html
During the process the client is aware, fully in control and relaxed. Allowing access to the deep inner mind, where old blocks and beliefs are stored. Allowing the client to learn the lesson before releasing the old patterns that are no longer resourceful. Clients are reporting excellent results and a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable session!
This has been especially effective when treating people suffering from Psoriasis and Eczema, often exacerbated by stress and worry.
EVOLVING THE BRAIN – DR JOE DISPENZA
I was delighted to spend two days with Dr Joe, you may remember him from the movie ‘What The Bleep Do We Know?’ Offering the Biology of Change, Dr Joe works hand in hand with Dr Bruce H Lipton, PhD, an internationally recognised authority in bridging science and spirit. Much more of this information to come! I will be working with Dr Joe again in the Autumn and have the intention of continuing this training with a view to bringing his work to this country in 2011.
Yes, a Coach needs coaching too! I have been working with a wonderful writing coach to improve the standard of my normally regular updates and articles. As with most change or growth processes, I have had to unlearn what I thought I knew and re-learn a new way. Those of you who have worked with change will be familiar with the term ‘resistance’, the energetic blocks our mind & body throws out in response to being pulled away from the comfort it knows – even if what it knows is hardly the best way! The result? I have had ‘writers block’ (and the odd mood too!)
As we become aware of what we don’t know, it is easy to throw in the towel and give up. Or, we can pick that towel up and use it to dust ourselves down and step forward through the fear! Watch this space and thanks a million to those of you who are cheering me on from the wings!
RADIO
I have been busy doing several radio interviews, the next one is for the BBC on Monday (7th June) at around 11.15am – if you are interested in listening, or calling in, here’s the link.
There is no doubt that the industry of change and energy psychology is flooded with brilliance and bullsh*t alike – it takes time and patience to find out who is which side of that particular fence.
Dr Eric Pearl has a story which I read with interest and am still undecided which category his work should be filed under! Dr Pearl had the biggest Chiropractic Clinic in California, he was not in need of a bob or two that is for sure! It is claimed that his patients were receiving profound and mysterious healings as his hands began to blister and bleed with a powerful energy being emitted. (Not to be confused with Stigmata)
Dr Pearl’s claims have been put to the test by various US Universities under strict research conditions and science is still trying to find out what the results mean! The reports show a proven shift in Dr Pearls patients’ energetic field, resulting in profound, spontaneous healings of serious emotional and physical disorders. In addition Deepak Chopra, whom I respect greatly, has validated this work – providing the final shove I needed to experience this work for myself.
With an open mind and healthy cynicism, I have booked three Reconnective sessions to begin next week. If I am bowled over by the results I will be flying to Madrid in August and attending a two day workshop which Dr Pearl and will of course keep you posted!
TAT
It appears there has been an advancement on EFT (tapping). TAT (Tapas Acupressure Technique®) claims to be an easy way to attain inner peace, relaxation, more vibrant health and empowerment. It is a combination of placing your attention on whatever the issue is and touching a few specific acupuncture points on your face and at the back of your head — that’s it! The main benefit ahead of EFT is that no root cause issue need be located in order to receive lasting benefit.
There are currently no TAT training programs in the UK and another training trip to California is not possible to squeeze into my schedule this year. However, I will be working with TAT remotely from July to find out for myself if these wonderful claims can be truly justified.
To ensure I remain bang up to date with the world of EFT and advancements I am attending a two day seminar in October. Gary Craig, EFT Founder, plus other luminaries in the field will be teaching and speaking.
To retain my work/life balance and feed my other passion, music and dancing, I have been lucky enough to get to The Faithless gig in Brixton and The Black Eyed Peas After-show Party at Indigo – dancing ’til dawn and having a blast……. I will be off to see Van Morrison and The Gypsy Kings next week … keeping the dancing shoes busy! The suitcases are about to be packed with books and the odd bikini as from the 14th June I will be on holiday. I will be available for emergencies via email, phone or text.
If you have any questions, or would simply like to know more about any area of personal transformation work and energy psychology, I always love to hear from you, please get in touch.
Personal re-invention is exciting, finding out who you are from the core and creating a life that perfectly reflects your vision and values brings another dimension to your world. Touch Hypnotherapy is the latest in a string of discoveries to offer the opportunity to break through old walls of fear and trepidation and re-create the life you really want.
Moving on from a relationship, down-sizing, creating a business with purpose, letting go of what no longer makes you happy - can be a time of enthralling transition. Your subconscious mind can assist you in many ways to fulfil your dreams and your potential but do you know how to access this powerful force? New change work holds the capabilities of bringing you into alignment, providing greater vision, momentum and self confidence as you tread the path with newly-ignited passion and knowing.
It is all too easy to get stuck in our old skin, it doesn’t fit us anymore, nor reflect who we truly are . We know our potential is unrealised and our life is passing by but making the shift can feel daunting.
Perhaps you have tried telling yourself not to be so silly, that you should just buckle down and be grateful for all you do have, so get on with it. In theory this sounds reasonable but what is the voice you are so busy drowning out really trying to say? How much longer are you prepared to let the years go by and refuse to listen to your inner knowing?
Having worked for years to advance your career path, create a secure financial platform and become a balanced adult the time has flown and now you are left with a feeling of ‘what next?’. Maybe you have everything you thought you wanted and still there’s a void? You can’t always put your finger on it but nonetheless you are feeling restless and a little dismayed with the life you have worked so hard to create.
Have you reached a point in your life where you thought you would be settled, sorted and satisfied, only to feel that something is missing? Maybe you know your life purpose and passion but are stuck, entrenched in current patterns and habits, held rooted to the spot and fearful of moving forward. As we make the decision to change it is time to seek clarity and straighten out the confusion, providing a strong foundation to translate our dreams into reality.
Busy schedules mean we rarely have time to invest in increasing the quality of our life. Transformational work has come a long way in the past few years and can affect positive change from the outset. Neuro Science has taught us how to create new neurological pathways, re-program our minds, dispersing fear and limiting beliefs, bringing clarity and a true sense of fulfilment.
Whether you are new to EFT, or a beneficiary, the chances are you would like to know more about how it works. Gary Craig, Founder of EFT, has put together this video which might help answer any questions you may have .
It is worth noting that Gary Craig charges nothing for his web instructional videos as his mission is to speed up and spread the great results EFT can achieve. An inspirational man who has followed his passion, understood his purpose and taught so much to so many!
His website http://www.emofree.com will help you work with EFT on your own.
I personally stumbled on EFT some years ago and eventually got the better of my cynicism, which was running riot at the thought of tapping a few points and witnessing immediate change.
It all seemed to be a bit too good to be true! Once trained, I had intended to slowly integrate EFT with other tried and tested change methods, it soon become one of my most used and consistently effective tools.
When was the last time you really let your hair down? It’s alarmingly easy to become entrenched in the day to day drudgery of routine, worries and feeling not great about yourself. Maybe you have forgotten how to release the constraints of self-consciousness and let yourself go, have fun and start smiling from the bottom of your heart?
We run the same worrisome and negative thought patterns through our mind time and again, forget to take care of our body and our spirit and then wonder why on earth we are feeling out of sorts. Tap into a healing resource that you may not be aware of and get moving, liberate energies that are stuck, the mind from incessant white noise and set yourself free to move with your internal rhythm.
In just 15 minutes this exercise will blow away your blues, re-energise and return the flow of your vitality…… you might even find yourself smiling like a chuffed Cheshire Cat. So, are you prepared to give it a go?
Put all of your attention and focus on this red rose for one full minute.
When intrusive thoughts try to interrupt allow them to float by like a wind-swept cloud.
You may not be highly visual in your imagination - you will feel, sense or think of the single red rose.
This may be more difficult for you than you expect, stay with it.
Each second that you succeed in giving complete attention to that rose in your mind you are proving to yourself you can have the power over your mind, diminishing the minds power over you.
You are building your mental mastery confidence!
Within a week of implementing this daily exercise into your schedule
You will feel mentally stronger and more confident in your ability to control your thoughts.
Week two increase the exercise to 90 seconds – At the beginning it may be tough but hang on in there
Everything we create in our life starts with a thought, it makes sense to be vigilant and take responsibility for each thought we think! This exercise, applied daily, will provide mental muscle growth, strength and confidence in all areas of mental mastery!
Let me know how you progress and I will be delighted to support you through the next steps, taking you forward to self empowerment and personal growth.

The Times have helpfully compiled an outstanding list of ad-hoc events to help you make the most of Summer. With Boutique Baby Sitting, endless meadows of music and a host of new ideas to bring out the Summer in you!
Clear away the winter blues by taking stock of your Summer diary and adding new, exciting events. If you tend to celebrate summer with the same strawberries in plastic punnets at Ascot each year, give yourself something new to look forward to.
Maybe you will fancy heading down to Dorset for Serenata, the UK’s first classical-music festival? Or how about putting a spell on the kids at Gavin Turk’s House of Fairy Tales,? Magic and fantasy are the name of the game, creating an unique learning experience for your little folk!
Do you notice inner reticence when it comes to committing to a new experience? Excuses, distractions, a feeling of un-ease are all standard resistance alarms. Notice and work through them, these are the deal-breakers holding you back. Imagine how liberated you will feel without these voices of doubt, doom and gloom whispering constantly in your head.
One of the most enjoyable ways to implement change is to do something different! Change your environment, your habits and relish new experiences, new people and places.
Every day you make a choice……. whether to gracefully slide through life in joy and authenticity, knowing our purpose and feeling great – oozing vitality and a lust for living. Or do we grudgingly accept what our life has become and remain stagnant seeing no hope for change?
Whatever you are choosing to believe about your life will come to pass.
When was the last time your took time to remember the things that make you laugh, cry and feel overcome with joy? You might be surprised how few of us really know what fills our happiness bank, although we are pretty up to date with the things that don’t.
Maybe you are remembering from your past what made you happy? That’s the old you, it got you to where you are now …… Make a note of everything you do NOW that fills you with a deep feeling of passion, contentment and peace. Don’t be shocked if you don’t know where to start, you could be working from an old and out of date map of yourself – it is time to have fun reviewing and updating. Many of the old avenues are closed, the roads no longer head in the direction you hoped and the sign posts are sending you on a wild goose chase.
Exhausted? No wonder! Would you get in your car with a map that is decades old and hope for the best as you head off on a road trip? Within a short time you would be frustrated, bad tempered and bemused, possibly even turning around and heading back home. OH AND FORGET KEEPING YOUR EYES FIXED ON THE REAR VIEW MIRROR – LOOKING BACKWARDS PREVENTS US MOVING FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE AND EASE!
Successful people will tell you they take time out to review their position, what they are doing and why, regularly updating their goals. When was the last time you took this inventory of your personal life?
They have told us for years that “Life begins at 40” …… and so it may! They failed to mention however the myriad of choices and decisions we would be called upon to make and how to feel better about ourselves and our lives than we ever did in our youth.
With Lady Luck behind us we have another four or so decades to make the most of.. It’s easy to become bogged-down by life, allowing our va va voom to evaporate along with our self confidence. We can forget to take care of ourselves as we look after others, we might settle for what we have and pack our dreams away forever. We can allow time passing to have a detrimental effect on our feel-good factor, give up on the good times and wait for old age.
On the other hand we can choose to embrace the years, learn to feel good about ourselves inside and out. Experience tells us that we can create a life alive with passion, joy and purpose. Which side of the fence are you sitting on?
The endless aesthetic choices available that can, for a price, hold back time and force even the most determined wrinkle into submission might be a step forward but come with their own limitations. Should we invest in fillers and jabs that paralyse our facial muscles, removing the visible toll of living through four decades? As we progress through the years there is the question of surgery, when to start and when to stop… or whether it’s the answer at all?
The choices and debates continue. With fashion, for the most part, foolishly forgetting successful, financially secure 40-somethings who are horribly bemused by the line between muse and mutton.
