WEIGHT ISSUES
Have you ever wondered why we, as a nation, spend millions of pounds every year on weight loss products, slimming clubs, low calorie/fat/carb products and still over 50% of the population are overweight? How many diets have you tried and although some will have been successful, you find yourself back to base far too quickly and needing to start the process all over again?
The simple truth of the matter is that subconsciously we have a reason to hold onto our weight. That might sound far-fetched but why else would we commit so much time, effort and money to anything that fails time and again?

Albert Einstein once said that “Insanity is repeating
the same actions, over and over, again and again,
and expecting different results.”
And yet so many of us do this in all areas of our lives without thinking! We wonder how come we create the same type of relationships, the same business stresses and uncertainties, attract partners (business or romantic) who have the same commitment/trust issues, reasons they are not right for us bla bla – I’ll bet that you know many other scenarios where these examples could reside in comfort!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
The way you enter a room will have an instant impact on how others at the party see you. Take some deep breaths before you walk in to slow your heart rate down, give yourself a few moments to stretch up to full height, walk tall and relax your facial features ,taking care to look as though you are pleased to be there. Smile!

Edward Monkton. Depression. The Times
Edward Monkton the creator of womderful characters like Purple Ronnie and The Pig of Happiness has been reported in the Times as having lost his joy for life as he suffered a bout of clinical depression, one of the last taboos in our society.
Monkton says that the purpose of his articles publication is to assist those touched by the dark clouds of this illness to take action, move forward and know it is manageable, curable and/or treatable.
Although a chemical imbalance in the brain may require medication there are many people who have learned the power of helping themselves through these difficult periods in life by regaining control of their thoughts and words.
We can literally think ourselves into a deeper depression or out towards the sunshine again. It takes determination and discipline of course but once we have re-programmed ourselves to look on the bright side and stay there it really can be life changing.

Having researched this subject for the past few months it seems clear that Toxicity has a significant influence on our mental well-being, weight and health. Before you are tempted to put your mood swings down to depression or embark on a strict diet to help your situation this might be worth checking out.
Toxins are a part of daily life – they bombard us externally from the environment and internally, produced by the body. It has been estimated that on average we eat or drink 3.75 litres (1 gallon) of pesticides (found in fresh food) and take in 5 kg (11 ¼ lbs) of chemical food additives and breath about 2 g of solid pollution each year. This is a lot of toxins for the body to deal with.
In addition we might smoke, drink, load ourselves with caffeine, coffee, prescription/recreational drugs, a junk diet….. there are a lot of paths towards toxic overload. I have been researching this subject in depth am fascinated with the findings….. I thought you might be interested in the symptoms, the data and ways to redress.

“Whatever we give focus to, we also give our power…”
Why believe what I say? Why not try this statement out for yourself?
For the next 12 hours focus on only the good things in your life. Appreciate every little thing you have, from a body that automatically breathes, moves and functions through to having food on your table, the blue sky, the refreshing rain. Everything and anything that comes to you, turn into an appreciation. Let your negative thought patterns know they can return in 12 hours and you will listen to them but for now you are giving them a well deserved rest. When a negative thought appears, thank it for letting you have the information and state a reminder of the 12 hour break.
Within 12 hours your world will appear differently, you will start to notice things moving in a different direction – towards you, responding so quickly that you might be tempted to put it down to co-incidence! By giving your focus and energy to all things positive you are instantly creating an energy change that will attract exactly that back to you!. Enjoy!
If you try this and have difficulty with it, drop me a line and I will be delighted to guide you through.
Have a great day!

Simple tips to reduce stress
- If you’re feeling less than your best it could be a response to too much pressure. If so, be specific and make the connection with the two, give it some thought, rather than accepting it as part of life.
- Take regular breaks. Give yourself a brief break when you feel things are getting on top of you – get a soft drink or take a brief stroll. Caffeine will enhance the feeling of stress, be discerning! Fresh air is a good thing!

We are fast approaching the time of year that can see our stress levels go sky high as we feel overwhelmed and on overload. If you are looking for quick, simple and home-based ways to help you relax and take things in your stride add a few drops of essential oil to your bath at night, light the candles and unwind for 20 minutes.
For years now I have been using essential oils to assist change work and now science has confirmed the effect they have on the brain-waves, assisting a change of state. Here are some of my tried and tested favourites.
Frankincense – Stops nightmares, brings peaceful sleep and aligns energy. Great for spiritual connection too. It is said that Frankincense is the highest vibrational oil which is the reason it is used in so many religious and spiritual rituals across the world.
Clary Sage – Brings dreams and enhances you ability to recall them, allowing resolution of emotions. Good for keeping focus and getting the job done.
Jasmine – An antidepressant and aphrodisiac with a beautiful smell.
Juniper – Helps you to relax when you are feeling overwhelmed
Neroli – Brings out optimism and re-connects you with your true spirit
Lavender – Lavender will calm you down or pep you up – depending on your need. It is an incredibly versatile essential oil. Healing new burns, giving a good nights sleep and so much more!
I burn the oils around the house, add to my bath time routine, rub a few drops on my hands and inhale before sleep and use as an energy enhancer throughout the day when needed. Always check the instructions on the bottle and if in doubt just drop me a line and I will be happy to advise.
